On January 30 at 1:40 am, three men attempted to enter La Casona, Venezuela’s presidential house, in order to steal military weapons.

The house is considered a military security zone, but the three men were somehow able to escape

Venezuela is a breeding ground for violence, as there were nearly 92 violent deaths per 100,000 residents in 2016 alone. There were 28,479 murders overall.

The Citizen Council for Public Security and Criminal Justice has deemed Venezuela the second most dangerous country in the world and Caracas the most dangerous city in the world.

Insecurity is rampant in Venezuela. It is driving citizens to commit criminal acts in order to survive or ensure the survival of their families. Venezuela is broken and under tyrannical leadership. President Maduro has done nothing to solve the insecurity problem.

We denounce Maduro’s rule, and we demand that the United States government begin to take action in order to help Venezuela achieve democracy, security, and peace.
